Our Alumni and friends of Bucks New University play a huge role in helping final year students take the next step in their careers, by sharing opportunities, mentoring, attending graduate/industry panels and welcoming those graduating into our community.
Advertising a Vacancy
Through the Career & Employability Service you can advertise workplace opportunities to current students, recent graduates and alumni. Either you or your recruitment team can find the staff they need, across hundreds of disciplines, by advertising on our vacancy platform and social media (Twitter, LinkedIn and Facebook; Student and Alumni based).
Simply contact our Employer Liaison Officer at: Careers@bucks.ac.uk or 01494 60 3163 to get the ball rolling.
Sharing an Opportunity
If you spot a job or internship and think ‘that would have been perfect for me when I graduated’ please share it via: Careers@bucks.ac.uk , Twitter or Facebook using: @BucksCareers, or even carrier pigeon*. How you get it to us isn’t important, but the sharing is.
The Bucks Mentoring Programme matches and supports one-to-one relationships between students (the Mentee) and a selected Mentor (a more experience student, graduate or other professional). Our Mentors come from a variety of backgrounds, and are matched based on the industry they work in or the skill-set they have that a Mentee can learn from.
This blog has a section dedicated to Mentoring, with plenty of first hand accounts and endorsements. Please do sign up if you can help a student build the skills, confidence, or network that can help them stand out from the crowd.
Complete an Alumni Testimonials to demonstrate how you turned your time at university into the launchpad for your career. We have been building our collection of these but want more from all areas of study, and at different stages of careers (from recent graduates and those fully established in their industry).
Connect with us to hear more about events and projects that inspire students, and to make full use of our networks.

Due to the national minimum wage legislation, we are unable to advertise any unpaid vacancies, unless you are a registered charity or statutory body. We adhere to the guidelines issued by Association of Graduate Careers Advisory Services (AGCAS). Their guidelines offer a variety of recommendations and advice for employers recruiting students and graduates for work experience/internships.
*I know there is going to be one joker out there tempted, so for the record please note that we stopped our carrier pigeon service in the 80’s.
